I love to keep learning new things. Right now, I'm diving deep into Figma's advanced prototyping capabilities with Variables, Modes, etc., and it's been fun combining my knowledge of coding and logic to my designs. I am also chipping away at a Udemy course in OOUX (Object Oriented UX), which has been very interesting.
I have extensive knowledge in front end software development, and enjoy using that knowledge to inform my design decisions. I like to think holistically about how the system is working, to know how my design will fit into the flow of the product.
Outside of the design world, I just completed my degree at RIT in Human-Centered Computing, with an economics minor. I was a four-year member of the women's swim team, and I completed my last season as a team captain. I love staying active, hiking, and traveling to new places.
I am working on some exciting projects in my last semester of college. I am taking an experimental design course, where I am creating an airline booking app in Figma. The prototype will be fully functional, and I am using modes, variables, conditionals, and component variants to limit the number of frames. I decided to create a small airline servicing the Scandinavian region, called Døgn Air. Døgn is a Danish word that cannot be translated directly into English, but it represents the 24-hour period stretching from midnight to midnight. This airline is catered towards young travelers, who want to see the world at a reasonable price. I have completed my flight schedule and my prototype logic, and I am currently working through the branding of my airline.
I have been working through my senior project since the fall with a team of seven. We are creating a single-passenger car reservation management system, servicing Rochester, New York. We are working for a client representing GyroGoGo, even though it is a fictional project. Last semester, we gathered requirements from our clients, developed design documents for our architecture, security, database, UI, and project management and development plan. I have been acting as the lead front end developer, and I am working on the UI designs and assisting with Project Management tasks. I have been in communication with our clients to confirm requirements and propose potential solutions. We also report our status biweekly in report meetings. Our team uses Jira as a project management tool, and we are organizing our work into two week sprints. I have been gaining a lot of collaboration and management experience through this project.
